Frame the Dales is the photography work of Sam Mashford, based in the Yorkshire Dales.

The work focuses on wildlife, landscape, and atmosphere across the region, shaped by early mornings, changing weather, and time spent in the landscape rather than passing through it.

Much of the recent work centres on an ongoing study of brown hares, alongside projects involving curlews, black grouse, and Middleham Castle through the seasons.

Rather than chasing perfect conditions, the aim is to photograph the character of the Dales as it is experienced — quiet, unpredictable, and constantly changing.
